Flexible Barrel Options for Lab Requests

This feature was added in VINX2 Version 5.1.2

This feature gives you the option to either request a lab test for specific barrels in a barrel group or request a test for the entire group. You have the option to print labels for the request accordingly.

This option is only available in the Request a lab sample/analysis dialog when performing Lab work on a barrel group.

This is the default setting when requesting a lab sample for a barrel group.

Step 1. Navigate to Search – Product Search and select a product in a barrel group. Then click on Lab work button.

Step 2. Select the Metrics you need and then click on Ok button. Make sure you have the Print labels checkbox ticked if you would like labels to print for the lab request.

The lab label for the barrel group will be printed if Print Labels option is selected.

Step 1. Navigate to Search – Product Search and select a product in a barrel group. Then click on Lab work button.

Step 2. In the Request a lab sample/analysis dialog, click on the Advanced button.

Step 3. In The Barrel Requests dialog, select Specify Barrels from the dropdown menu.

Step 4. Select the barrels that you want to have the lab labels on. All the barrels in the barrel group are selected by default. You can tick on the None checkbox to deselect all or the All checkbox to select all. You can also select individual barrels by ticking on the checkbox beside the barrel name. Then click on Ok button.

Note: The Total Requests value will show how many barrels you selected.

Step 5. Select the Metrics you need and then click on Ok button. Make sure you have the Print labels checkbox ticked if you would like labels to print for the lab request.

The lab labels of the barrels you specified will be printed if Print Labels option is selected. The Total Requests value corresponds to the total number of labels that will be printed.

Step 1. Navigate to Search – Product Search and select two products in a barrel group. Then click on Lab work button.

Step 2. In the Request a lab sample/analysis dialog, click on the Advanced button.

Step 3. In the Advanced Lab Requests dialog, click on One Request per Barrel button.

The values under Lab Requests will change to reflect the number of barrels in the barrel group and will become a hyperlink that will open the Specify Barrels dialog.

Step 4. In the Advanced Lab Requests dialog, click on the hyperlink for each product under Lab Requests.

Step 5. Select the barrels that you want to have the lab labels on. All the barrels in the barrel group are selected by default. You can tick on the None checkbox to deselect all or the All checkbox to select all. You can also select individual barrels by ticking on the checkbox beside the barrel name. Then click on Ok button.

Repeat this step for the other products in your Advanced Lab Requests dialog.

In the Advanced Lab Requests dialog, the Total Requests will be updated to the total number of barrels you have selected for both products.

Then click on Ok button.

Step 6. Select the Metrics you need and then click on Ok button. Make sure you have the Print labels checkbox ticked if you would like labels to print for the lab request.

  1. Is there any way to get these linked to a work order? I need to assign lab work to select barrels and generate labels but need this to show on a work order.
